2021-04-08 12:00:00Z Apr 08, 2021 Forest Resener StoveTeam International Apr 08, 2021 12:00 PM

Forest Resener is the Operations Director for StoveTeam International, an organization based in Portland, Oregon that has provided over 76,000 improved cookstoves for families in Latin America. Right now StoveTeam is working on a new project in Guatemala, a stove that is built in place and includes a chimney, completely eliminating smoke inside the home.

StoveTeam is a nonprofit organization, started by a Rotarian in Eugene, Oregon that facilitates the placement of safe, affordable, fuel-efficient cookstoves in collaboration with local communities to support families and protect the environment. StoveTeam's innovative model for assisting entrepreneurs in Latin America has been awarded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Partnership for Clean Indoor Air Award for Developing Local Markets for creating local employment while improving health and reducing air pollution. To date, local projects started by StoveTeam in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras and Mexico have produced more than 76,000 stoves, improving the lives of more than half a million people and preventing nearly one million tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

We expect to use Zoom video to conduct our meetings online for the duration of the COVID-19 virus response. Email >info@ejcrotary.club< for the simple procedures about how to join us online.
