The Club's Interact Committee provides guidance, oversight and mentorship to the Chimacum High School (CHS) Interact Club, which is an independent entity composed of CHS students.

Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people ages 12-18. It enables CHS Interact Club members to engage in service projects, develop leadership skills, and connect with people at school, in our local communities and around the world.

The Club’s Interact Committee works with the CHS Interact Club throughout the school year on a variety of projects. Club members are most often involved in supporting the Santa Booth at the Craft Fair early in December which raises money for CHS Interact Club-supported efforts to end polio, supports the Heifer Project and provide computers for rural schools in Thailand, while the car wash, in April, raises money for the Interact Club to donate a Shelterbox annually. The full list of Interact service activities and other information appear in this page on our website.

CHS Interact students are encouraged to apply for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), which take place in late winter each year at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma. The cost of attendance is paid for by our Club.

The CHS Interact Club earned the Rotary International Interact Citation for Rotary Year 2018-2019, and is striving to achieve the Citation for this Rotary Year as well.

CHS Interact students have often joined Rotarians for lunch at our Thursday meetings, and report on their activities to the Club on a regular basis.

For an informative perspective on how Interact helped a past member take wing through college and find her career, Rian Plastow’s recent presentation to the Club, on video here, is quite interesting.
