The Local Grants Committee evaluates requests submitted to the Club from local organizations outside the Club and decides whether to fund them.

The Committee is chaired by Past President Karen Griffith. Members include President-Elect Nominee Betsy Pentz, Dr Stephen Porter, DDS, and President Caleb Summerfelt. The Committee budget is set by the Board of Directors on an annual basis.


The Committee meets when a grant request has been received to review whether it falls within Rotary International and Club goals and objectives. If the request meets Club standards, the Committee decides how much funding should be allocated to support it and directs that allocation of funds from its budget, keeping the Board of Directors and the Club informed.  Club members are always welcome to sit in on Local Grant Committee meetings to listen to the decision process.
