Our club goal for individual donations to The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund is $7,500 this Rotary Year, which runs through June 30th, 2021, though we hope to exceed that amount.

As we approach the end of the calendar year, now is a good time to consider a donation to The Rotary Foundation.

Donating to the Annual Fund is actually quite easy!

You may write a check to the Club and designate it for the Annual Fund, giving or mailing it to the Club Treasurer. Or, you may make a one-time donation or arrange for an automatic deduction each month from your bank or checking account to The Rotary Foundation at https://my.rotary.org/en/donate

Your donations to The Rotary Foundation are tax-deductible, and will be acknowledged by the Foundation with the appropriate IRS-501.c.3 letter.

Donations to the Annual Fund are the mainstay of The Rotary Foundation, and make  it possible for clubs to transform lives worldwide through programs and projects within our seven Areas of Focus. Those seven areas are, in priority order, Peace and Conflict Prevention / Resolution; Disease Prevention and Treatment; Water and Sanitation; Maternal and Child Health; Basic Education and Literacy; Economic and Community Development, and Supporting the Environment.

It’s our continuing goal within the Club for each member to give what they can afford. The club suggests a minimum of $100 each year, but the amount is up to the individual. Last year, our Club averaged $120 per person in donations to the Annual Fund.

You will earn points towards Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) recognition for your donation, at a rate of one Foundation Point for each dollar donated.

Rotarians know they can trust The Rotary Foundation to be responsible with our donations. The Foundation is audited annually, publishes its financials on the web and in the Annual Report, and is reviewed by the completely independent organization Charity Navigator, our country’s largest and most-used charity evaluator. Find out more, here.

The Charity Navigator report on the Foundation, produced annually, is an excellent way to monitor the health of the Foundation.

On December 1st, 2020, Charity Navigator announced that for the 13th consecutive year, The Rotary Foundation had received the highest rating possible. In an earlier letter to the Foundation, Charity Navigator noted that "...only 1 percent of the charities we evaluate have received at least 10 consecutive 4-star evaluations…”  The four-star rating reflects Charity Navigator's assessment of how the Foundation uses donations, sustains its programs and services, and practices good governance and openness. The Foundation earned the maximum of 100 points for demonstrating both strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency.

Please check with Foundation Chair John Erickson should you have questions, and thank you for your donations!
