The Rotary Club of East Jefferson County is inviting high school sophomores and juniors to apply to attend the 2022 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA).

The Pacific Northwest RYLA will be held June 8-11, 2022 at YMCA Camp Colman in Longbranch WA. Applications will be accepted through March 31st, 2022.  Students chosen will receive a full-ride scholarship to the four day program.

Every year, the Rotary Club of East Jefferson County sends up to three students from Chimacum High School, Quilcene High School or students who are home-schooled in those school districts to Rotary’s Youth Leadership program via full-ride scholarships.

The program is a four day experience full of activities that emphasize leadership, teamwork, and decision making. The program is designed to stimulate and cultivate leadership potential in youth by providing meaningful leadership training experiences through programs such as physical and mental challenges, discussions, and guest speakers.

There are many benefits to attending RYLA. Participants build communication and problem-solving skills, discover strategies for becoming a dynamic leader, learn from community leaders, inspirational speakers, and peer mentors, unlock potential to turn motivation into action, form lasting friendships, and have fun!

Applications will be accepted through March 31st, 2022. When an application is submitted, it will be reviewed by The Rotary Club of East Jefferson County. The applicant will sit for an interview, and, if accepted, receive a full scholarship to attend the RYLA.

Participants must be committed to attending the full length of the camp.
