Our individual donations to the Annual Fund are the mainstay of The Rotary Foundation, and make  it possible for clubs to transform lives worldwide through programs and projects within our six Areas of Focus. Those six areas are, in priority order, Peace and Conflict Prevention / Resolution; Disease Prevention and Treatment; Water and Sanitation; Maternal and Child Health; Basic Education and Literacy; and Economic and Community Development.

Our club policy has been that each member should give what they can afford, and that all members should strive to donate to The Rotary Foundation every year. The club suggests a minimum of $100 each year, but the amount is up to the individual. Last year, our Club averaged $391 per person in donations to the Annual Fund, fifth highest in our District of 91 Clubs.

Donating to the Annual Fund is actually quite easy.

You may write a check to the Club and designate it for the Annual Fund, giving it to the Club Treasurer. Or, you may make a one-time donation or arrange for an automatic deduction each month from your bank or checking account to The Rotary Foundation at https://my.rotary.org/en/donate

Donations to The Rotary Foundation are tax-deductible, and will be acknowledged by the Foundation with the appropriate IRS-501.c.3 letter.

Rotarians know they can trust The Rotary Foundation to be responsible with our donations. The Foundation is audited annually, publishes its financials on the web and in the Annual Report .

The Foundation is reviewed and rated annually by the completely independent organization Charity Navigator, our country’s largest and most-used charity evaluator. The Foundation earned perfect marks this year, in a rating report published August 1st, 2019, placing it in the top one percent of all US charities, for twelve years straight!

In a report highlighting the charities which received perfect marks, including The Rotary Foundation, Charity Navigator wrote "The exceptional charities on this list execute their missions in a fiscally responsible way while adhering to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities. Each has earned perfect scores for its Financial Health and its Accountability & Transparency. Those two scores then translate into a perfect 100 point overall score. Less than one percent of the thousands of charities rated by Charity Navigator have earned perfect scores."

Please check with Foundation Chair Pete Leenhouts, Foundation Committee member John Erickson, or Club Treasurer Jennifer Blais should you have questions. Thank you for your annual donation and strong support of the Annual Fund!
