This year, the Hadlock Block Party is scheduled to be held Saturday, August 4th, 2018.

Presented by IDGAF and Circle & Square Auto Care, the Hadlock Block Party is coordinated by representatives from local businesses, including Ferino’s Pizza, the Valley Tavern, The Station Signs, Kitsap Credit Union, Hadlock Building Supply, the Old Alcohol Plant, and the Rotary Club of East Jefferson County. The event committee works year-round to produce a grassroots community event focused on neighbors coming together to celebrate the unique nature of Port Hadlock.  Website:

The hyper-local and family-friendly focus of the Hadlock Block Party is a nod to the earlier years of the long-running festival, which ended in 2012. Since many locals missed the chance to gather with their neighbors, happy memories of Hadlock Days’ past inspired the Hadlock Block Party team to incorporate some of the old festival’s most beloved features, such as the parade.

The Rotary Club of East Jefferson County stepped up to the plate to coordinate the parade, which begins at 1pm at Church Street and proceeds through the center of downtown Port Hadlock, ending at Christney Street. Parade participants are being actively solicited; see the website for details. Signups will be accepted through Wednesday, August 1st, 2018.  You'll find the registration form and insurance form on the Club's website at; scroll down a bit to find it.

Food and other vendors will be centered this year along a short stretch of on Ness Corner Road (WA-116) between Ferino’s Pizza on one side of the street and Hadlock Building Supply on the other, offering local events, food and other items for sale from 11am – 5pm.

Chuck and Karen Russell’s Valley Tavern, longtime participants in the old event and major boosters for the new Block Party, will host a Keg Toss at 2pm, and then close out the evening with a performance by the well-known Dukes of Dabob, starting at 7pm.

The Old Alcohol Plant Hotel and Restaurant will host a musical performance by One-Egg Night from 4-7pm, along with a BBQ and beer garden.

The Station Signs and Screen Printing, who helped coin the block party’s “We Are Who We Are” tagline, will again have event logo t-shirts available for purchase in their booth. Other activities include a rescue dog demonstration, a pie-face fundraiser, and programming by Discovery Bay Wild Bird Rescue & Search.
