The Club’s Long Range Plan Committee, a standing committee per our Club’s Bylaws, is chaired by Immediate Past President Terry Umbreit.

Current members include Past Presidents John Erickson and Pete Leenhouts (Committee Secretary), President-Elect Paul Wynkoop, President-Elect Nominee Betsy Pentz, and Club Secretary Pete Hubbard. President Caleb Summerfelt is an ex-officio member of this committee, as he is all Club committees. . The Committee is looking for additional members - if you’re interested in participating, please let Pete Leenhouts know.

The Long Range Plan Committee focuses on all five Avenues of Service. Like all committees, members are guided by the Object of Rotary, the 4-Way Test, and the Rotary People of Action campaign: Rotary is where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change.

There are two major tasks assigned to the Long Range Planning Committee. The first is assigned by our Bylaws, the second was tasked by the Board of Directors in June, 2018. The Bylaws tasking reads “This committee, chaired by the current Past President, is tasked to develop club projects that are multi-year in scope, looking 3-5 years into the future. The purpose is to provide early investigation into potential new Club activities and make recommendations to the Board for action and implementation.” The Board also tasked the Long Range Planning Committee with preparing a recommendation for Committee realignment. For each Committee, Standing and Ad Hoc, the mandate, goals, duties, leadership, membership, succession plan and activity plan shall be reported in accordance with our Bylaws.”

The Long Range Planning Committee will meet monthly throughout Rotary Year 2018-2019, usually during the third week of the month. The Committee will report to the membership during the Annual Meeting in December, and will publish a Long Range Plan for Rotary Years 2019-2024 in late February, 2019 for President-Elect and Board approval. The Long Range Plan will be updated annually. Your inputs are desired!
