I never imagined when sending (our daughter) Grace away last August how fast it would go or what would happen here during that year she was away. As we are getting ready to welcome Grace Bradley home soon from her grand adventure abroad, I can't wait to see how much she has grown and hear all about it. She was so fortunate to have so many great people to help her and look out for her along the way...
I know that we will always be grateful for what you did for Grace and we so happy we got to meet all of you. While Grace was away, I fell in love with youth exchange thanks to some pretty amazing people...

When Grace left I was not involved with Rotary... but these people and especially the students inspired me to get involved.

In December I became a Rotarian, a month later I become a youth exchange officer and a few months after that I joined the district youth exchange committee. This has been an amazing experience for Kari Bradley and I, we never imagined that sending our daughter off last year would have such a profound impact on our lives back home. We have met so many amazing young people who were awesome, real, they shared their experiences, feelings and fears from their year here which really helped me understand what Grace has been going through in Norway and how she might be feeling when she gets home.

These students have somehow become like second children and we now have extended family all over the world :-) ( I will miss having you guys just hanging around the kitchen table, chatting, laughing....fun times) This really all started with Grace Bradley, if she hadn't come home a few years ago with this application for youth exchange we never would have ended up here.

If you want to make an positive impact on something in your community get involved with Rotary, it is an amazing organization. Youth Exchange has really touched my heart and I am so thankful to have met and will continue to meet people who inspire me to do more #rye5020 #rotaryclubofnanaimo #dingdangdong #RotaryYouthService
